What are the classifications of self-adhesive labels?

Self-adhesive labels, also known as self-sticking label materials, are composite materials with paper, film or other special materials as the surface material, coated with adhesive on the back, and silicon-coated protective paper as the base paper. Self-adhesive labels can mainly be classified into paper-based materials, film-based materials, film layer materials, adhesives and base materials. The following is an explanation of their functional classifications.

1.Paper-based materials: They can be classified into offset paper, coated paper, glass card paper, laser paper, kraft paper, fluorescent paper, gold-plated paper, aluminum foil paper, fragile (anti-counterfeiting) paper, silver-plated paper, masking paper, fabric label (Tevik/nylon) paper, pearlescent paper, sandwich coated paper, and variable message paper.

2. Film substrates: They can be classified into transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), synthetic paper, PS, PE, shape memory anti-counterfeiting materials (SMP), etc.

3. Coating material: Transparent polyester (PET), semi-transparent polyester (PET), transparent oriented polypropylene (OPP), semi-transparent oriented polypropylene (OPP), transparent polyvinyl chloride (PVC), glossy white polyvinyl chloride (PVC), matte white polyvinyl chloride (PVC), synthetic paper, glossy gold (silver) polyester, matte gold (silver) polyester, shape memory anti-counterfeiting material .

4. Adhesives: Universal super adhesive type, universal strong adhesive type, strong adhesive type for refrigerated food, universal re-peeling type, fiber re-peeling type. On the one hand, it ensures a moderate adhesion between the backing paper and the face paper; on the other hand, it guarantees that after the face paper is peeled off, it can still have a strong adhesion to the adhered object.

5. Base material: Release paper, commonly known as "base paper", has a low surface energy and non-stick surface. The base paper has an isolating effect on the adhesive, so it is used as the adherent of the face paper to ensure that the face paper can be easily peeled off from the base paper. Commonly used ones include white, blue and yellow glassine paper or garlic skin paper, kraft paper, polyester (PET), coated paper and polyethylene (PE). Translated into English
