What is the main process adopted for foil gold labels?

2025-12-18

The foil gold labels commonly seen on perfume bottles and candle jars are mainly produced using the hot stamping process, a specialized printing technique that transfers metallic foil onto the label surface via thermal compression technology.

The core of the hot stamping process lies in precisely controlling temperature and pressure. In thermal compression equipment, gold or silver foil and the label material are pressed together for a short period, enabling the metallic foil to be transferred onto the label surface according to the pattern of the mold. Throughout the process, the temperature needs to be maintained at around 200℃, with appropriate pressure and contact time applied to ensure the gold foil effect is uniform and long-lasting.

Foil gold labels boast strong visual impact, unique tactile feel and high durability. Their metallic luster makes the printed patterns stand out instantly on product packaging. The stamped areas are usually slightly raised, creating a textural contrast with the surface of the substrate. Compared with traditional ink printing, hot stamped labels are more scratch-resistant and fade-resistant, capable of retaining the integrity of printed patterns for a long time. They are therefore ideal for premium products requiring long-term preservation.

Applying foil gold labels to fragrance products such as perfume bottles and candle jars not only enhances the product’s sense of luxury and quality but also conveys the brand’s high-end positioning through metallic luster, strengthening consumers’ visual recognition of the brand.
